"Critical Review"
The word “criticize” has a negative meaning, and it points out weaknesses or even finding faults in people’s work. Hence, in an academic context ,not all critics are negative.
As a student, I am not going to criticize my peers' work, instead I will evaluate and examine their chosen topic.
It's a great opportunity to read other people's opinions and annotated bibliography and evaluate their topics. During this process, I learned a lot of interesting facts about game development.
Health Benefits of video games
In this topic the author is talking about the negative and positive effects on video games. He mentions what impact video games can have on people’s health immune system-indicating violence, addiction and obesity.
Year by year the scientist’s opinions change according to video games, and some of them are using video games as a good example for some diseases. When the patient has an arm injury playing video games can exercise the muscles and feel better, I will argue on this announcement, as video games can not be compared to traditional therapy methods, in this situation we can’t claim that video games should be considered as a treatment method.
Also, I will debate the following point of view- Video games players' attention become more efficient than non-gamers.
I don’t agree, I know more people who are non-players, and have more perspective lifestyles than game players.
How video games can change people’s brain and structure. The answer is simple-People who can control their emotions during the game, choosing and playing meaningful games, they can train their brain, physical activities and even improve their diet system avoiding obesity.
Unfortunately, not all of the players are capable of controlling their emotions.
Mental Health/ video games
When people are talking about how games are beneficial for mental health, or how games can decrease stress and anxiety, even providing an opportunity for social connection, I want to cry, how people can easily turn into “game products' '.
I know ,50% of this is true, most people are feeling free when they sit on the other side of the screen, playing, chatting and having fun with unknown people, is it safe? no physical harms, no insulting, beating, but are they really safe,? The answer is No! Not all young people are capable of controlling their emotions, their behaviour drastically changing, they acting aggressively, insomnia and bad mood will follow them during the whole week ,or even months. And all these can lead to emotional and psychological problems and many video game players can't control themselves and let negative mood and stress control their behaviour. However, video games are going to stay with us longer and longer, unfortunately.
